NYSCMA-ICMA Affiliate Agreement

At the NYSCMA Annual Conference in May the issue of the Association’s inclusion in its by-laws that members of NYSCMA must abide by the ICMA Code of Ethics.  Questions were raised about the clause that prohibits seeking elective office or contributing to political campaigns on the State of Federal level.  ICMA representatives agreed to bring these concerns back to ICMA.  In the interim, it was decided that the affiliate agreement between NYSCMA and ICMA be posted to our website for guidance.  As a result, the Agreement is available on the website.
